The Shimanto River, famous for its clear water, is the longest and the only large river where you can travel through nature from the headwaters to the mouth of the river without almost any interruption, in western Japan. The basin of the slowly flowing river is filled with lush greenery, and the rustic countryside where people and nature are in harmony, which can be said to be the original scenery of Japan, goes on fascinating travelers throughout the trip. Hike into the green forest at the headwaters and start cycling from the foot of the mountain. It is an adventure trip where you run along the flow of the Shimanto River that gradually changes into a big flow and where you run through the whole Shimanto River, which is 196km in total length, to the mouth of the river where it flows into the Pacific Ocean. The road is almost flat throughout, rental bicycles (sports bikes, cross bikes) are prepared, and a support staff car accompanies you for safety against unexpected troubles. Canoe tour is also available as an option.

●Day 1 (□breakfast □lunch ☑supper)
Transportation to and from the site, headwater area hike
You’ll be picked up at the Kochi Ryoma Airport, where you arrive around noon, or around Kochi City, by shuttle car (such as a jumbo cab). Then, you’ll head towards the headwaters of the Shimanto River in Tsuno Town, leave the car there and walk (about 25 minutes one way) to the headwaters.
After hiking around the headwaters, you’ll lodge in Tsuno Town.

●Day 2 (☑breakfast ☑lunch □supper)
Headwater area ➡ Kubokawa, Shimanto Town (about 41 km)
9:00 After fitting a bicycle, you’ll begin your cycling trip with the staff leading the way in a car. You’ll ride through the countryside, and have a bento (box lunch) in nature for lunch.
15:00 (approx.) You’ll arrive in Kubokawa, Shimanto Town (Free time for sightseeing in the town, including Iwamoto-ji Temple and an old house café).
16:00 You’ll check in to the hotel, and then have supper at a pub in the town.

●Day 3 (☑breakfast □lunch ☑supper)
Kubokawa, Shimanto Town➡Nishitosa, Shimanto City (about 60 km)
9:00 You’ll start, and then run along the old route where you can enjoy a countryside and a river landscape without using a tunnel on the national route.
15:00 (approx.) You’ll arrive in Nishitosa, Shimanto City.

●Day 4 (☑breakfast □lunch □supper)
Nishitosa, Shimanto City➡Mouth of Shimanto River (about 50 km)
8:30 You’ll start, and then pass through Sada Chinkabashi (submersible bridge) and so on, on the way.
12:00 (approx.) You’ll have lunch in Nakamura, Shimanto City.
14:00 (approx.) You’ll bathe in a hot spring near the mouth of Shimanto River and change clothes there.
15:00 This trip closes at a lodging place in Shimanto City. We send you by taxi for Kochi City or the Airport, as an option.
